Dear Friends and Shareholders of Mariana

Today we announced completion of the strategic investment by leading gold producer AngloGold Ashanti Limited for a 19.9% interest in Mariana at 12p. A total of 45,418,212 shares has been issued to AngloGold Ashanti Holdings plc ("AngloGold"), for gross proceeds of £5,439,354 (approximately C$8.72 million). With drill results still to come from Santa Cruz projects, planning is well underway for what will be an exciting 2012 drill programme for Mariana.
